ACHOTL1 Test Class

The test class for the 2-day Apache Cassandra Hands-On Training Level One course will take place on Wednesday and Thursday June 11-12, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Reading at Symantec.

Once you read through this page to decide if this course is for you, please email Ruth at ruth(at)ruthstryker(dot)com if you want to secure a spot in the class. She will then email you back to confirm your place. (Before requesting a spot from Ruth, please be sure that you will be attending the class. There are only 10 spots for this class. If there is a waitlist and you don't show up, you will have deprived someone else who wanted to come. Thanks!) There is no fee for the test class.


Course Description

Created for people new to Cassandra, this high-quality, hands-on, project-based course takes learners through the basics of working with Cassandra as they learn how to install Cassandra, create a database, create tables, insert, update, and delete data, and create an application, as well as create and manipulate a multiple-node cluster. Recommended prerequisites for this course are experience with databases, application servers, and programming. See the course outline for detail on what we will be doing in this 2-day class.

The training room is on the second floor of Building 3 (the building on the left). Once you park your car in one of the many visitor spots outside Building 3, go to reception in Building 3 and provide your name. Reception will have a list of the attendees. If for any reason you have an issue at reception (unlikely), the name our Symantec host is Karl Woodrow. Karl has generously provided the training room for us and will be in the class. Thank you Karl!
